From the Dolomite Mountains of Italy comes this beautiful hand crafted Anri Music Box. The inside says "Once upon a time a shepherd was tending his sheep & goats high in the Dolomite mountains, when he suddenly discovered a cave. As his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he perceived a remarkable sight: A group of dwarfs carving wood with chisels & knives. Captivated by the miraculous sight, he asked to be taught the art. And so, the legend goes, the shepherd boy learned the art of woodcarving from the mountain dwarfs, & returned to his Groden valley home where he taught others what he had learned. The mountain legend inspired the late artist Eduard Mahiknecht to create this dwarf scene in 1930. playing to the tune of It's a Small World. Measures 4.75 x 4.75 x 3.
